Experience the rich heritage and traditional way of life of the Batwa people on an immersive cultural trail in southwestern Uganda.
The Batwa, often referred to as the forest people, have a deep historical connection with the forests of the Albertine Rift. During the Batwa Trails experience, local Batwa guides share stories of their ancestral forest life, traditional knowledge, hunting techniques, medicinal plants and cultural practices.
Walk through the forest surroundings while learning how the Batwa traditionally lived, gathered food and interacted with their natural environment. The experience also provides an opportunity to listen to traditional songs, stories and demonstrations shared by community members.

Beyond sightseeing, the Batwa Trails offer a meaningful opportunity to connect with local communities, understand their history and support community-based tourism initiatives.
